Thank you for visiting Iowa’s new Alliance for Wind Innovation and Novel Development website. We’re proud of this latest step we’ve taken to tap clean, renewable energy resources to spur investment and create new, green-collar jobs in Iowa.
When Lt. Governor Patty Judge and I took office, we made it clear we are committed to taking full advantage of our natural resources, along with our incredible manufacturing base and workforce, to create new, green-collar jobs in every corner of the state and make Iowa the renewable energy capital of the United States.
Through research, innovative public policies, training and education and expanded testing facilities, our new alliance will work to meet our goal to create 25 percent of Iowa's electricity from renewable sources by the year 2025.
The progressive alliance is the first of its kind connecting Iowa’s three Regents universities, five community colleges, the state and the wind energy industry. Not only is the alliance a necessary step to maintaining Iowa’s leadership in both generating wind energy, it is the key to producing a skilled, productive workforce by developing a constant stream of new, well-trained workers that can hit the ground running their first day on the job.
